Reducing Food Waste
Turning Waste into Wonder
The foundation of our entire business is built on reducing fruit waste. By rescuing surplus and misshapen fruit from Herefordshire farms, we've saved over 10,000 kg of produce from going to landfill.
Every bottle of Penrhos Spirits represents fruit that would otherwise have been wasted - given new life as a handcrafted spirit with genuine provenance.
Packaging
Recycled Aluminium Bottles
We've partnered with HYKE to use their Forever Bottle - made from 100% recycled aluminium. Unlike glass, aluminium is infinitely recyclable without any loss in quality, making it one of the most sustainable packaging options available.
Our bottles are lighter than glass, reducing carbon emissions during transport, and can be recycled again and again through your household recycling bin.
Our Commitments
Zero-Waste Distilling
Our spent botanicals and fruit pulp are composted and returned to the farm, closing the loop on our production process.
Local Sourcing
By working with farms and suppliers within Herefordshire and the surrounding counties, we minimise the miles our ingredients travel.
Renewable Energy
We're working towards powering our distillery with 100% renewable energy, reducing our carbon footprint at every stage of production.
